Nicotine, Caffeine, Porn
It’s funny how I keep ‘relearning’ the same lessons over and over again.
Just spitballing about this trio of things that I really ought to quit by now. Also because I’ve felt like I wanted a vape all night, as a nocturnal person at the moment.
Nicotine
Some bad things associated with nicotine:
- 35% higher stroke incidence
- Scary health risks that can leave you hospitalised
- Furrowing of your arteries
- Higher incidence of depression
- Sleep disruption
- Both the quality of your sleep, and just the very important act of getting to sleep in the first place
- Fucking expensive
- It’s like, you either spend £6 every day, or you commit to the lifestyle fully by buying a massive vape device
- Circulatory problems
- I have been having weird circulation feelings in my body for a while now :(
There’s going to be far far more than just this, and many things nobody knows about yet.
The scary part is that until May of last year I’d never fully vaped, so the vape-free lifestyle is still somewhere in my psyche, but it’s almost fading or something. Need to bring it back.
It’s really selfish to have a stoke and then your entire family is watching you as you die, or become a vegetable. Hope the vape was worth it.
I can improve my mental state by quitting nicotine fully and never going back. I know it gets so much better at day 30 even (currently on day 18)
Caffeine
I have a very long storied history with quitting caffeine, and it has been a big deal in earlier parts of my life. I found quitting to vastly improve my sleep, make it far easier to get to sleep, etc.
When I first quit coffee, I was lethargic and tired for like three days. That’s your body catching up to you. You’ve been whipping it like a horse and treating it like shit for long enough.
What is the benefit of coffee?
- Higher stress
- Harder to sleep
- Lower quality of sleep
- Feeling of being ‘wired’, unpleasant
- Very strange sensations in head and body
- Feeling of dependency
It’s just crap.
It doesn’t help I’ve been using caffeine to get over the nicotine withdrawals. Eventually, one day, you just have to accept that your life is going to be crappy for a few days until your body readjusts and you can find a more permanent state of happiness.
Porn
It’s porn, ‘nuff said
Thankfully, we’re not doing any of that
Just choose a better life for yourself. It’s not that hard, it just takes some time to be fully realised.
